Special Education: Take A Look !

Special Education Services take place when your child has an Individualized Education Plan, commonly called an IEP.  Students may receive support within the regular educator's classroom setting and with me supporting their academic needs in the classroom as they are exposed to the same academic learning as their non-disabled peers.  Some students are pulled into a separate setting with me to work on targeted and intensive skills away from their peers.

As a special educator for the second and fourth grade levels, students receive support in one or more of the following areas: Math, ELA (English Language Arts), Reading, Writing and/or Social/Emotional Behavior Skills.

Students who receive speech/language are served by the speech pathologist; students with occupational therapy or adapted PE are also served by their respective provider.

Based on each child's IEP, accommodations and/or modifications are implemented to support his or her learning needs.
